The measurement technology, administration and interpretation were stationed as a temporary solution in rented rooms in Fürstenwalder Straße and in the Schützenhaus in Straße der Jugend.
The VEB Bohrlochmessung Gommern (VEB Borehole Measurement Gommern) was founded with the bases in Gommern, Gotha, Greifswald, Leipzig and Storkow, thus reuniting the two borehole measurement companies in Leipzig and Gommern.
In addition to in-house developments, a slow changeover from Soviet to Hungarian measurement technology began. The focus of borehole geophysics at this time was on the investigation of oil and gas wells.
1963 - 1964
In Storkow, the development of the new company premises in the former Straße der Jugend (today Schützenstraße 33) took place and a company building was erected, which still serves as the central headquarters of Bohrlochmessung - Storkow GmbH today.
31.03.1966
Temporary merger of the two companies VEB Bohrlochmessungen and VEB Bohrlochzementierung to form VEB Bohrlochmessung und- Zementierung (VEB BMZ).
The focal points of the work were distributed as follows:
- Gommern: Petroleum gas in the Altmark region
- Gotha: Petroleum Thuringia
- Greifswald: Petroleum North German Basin
- Leipzig: Brown coal
- Storkow: Petroleum-Petroleum gas Lausitz
In the 1970s, the Storkow branch began to adapt its borehole measurement technology to the conditions in the shallow drilling area in the course of a redistribution of the measurement area.
The focus of the investigations shifted to the exploration of brown coal, water, construction raw materials (clay, lime, sand and gravel), aluminium, copper and building ground.
The conversion from analogue to digital registration of borehole measurement data at the end of the 1970s represented a decisive step towards increasing the effectiveness and quality of borehole measurement.
From the end of the 1970s onwards, the range of tasks of the VEB Bohrlochmessung was extended by several geophysical missions abroad with the leading participation of Storkow employees:
- 1978-79: Preparation of the oil exploration mission in Iraq
- 1980-85: Coal exploration in Mocambique
- 1986: Potash salt exploration in China
- 1985-89 Within the scope of the "Petrobaltic" object, oil exploration in the north-eastern area of the Baltic Sea
At the end of the 1970s, the branch in Storkow was expanded in terms of construction and personnel, which ended with the establishment of a new company, Geophysikalischer Gerätebau Storkow.
01.01.1984
After 19 years of interruption, borehole logging becomes an independent operation again in the Volkseigenes Kombinat Geophysik Leipzig.
Ende 1989
After the collapse of the GDR, the VEB Bohrlochmessung was taken over by the Treuhandanstalt (trust agency).
01.01.1990
VEB Bohrlochmessung was transformed into Gesellschaft für bohrlochgeophysikalische und geoökologische Messungen mbH with headquarters in Gommern and offices in Gotha, Leipzig and Storkow. Two offices in Mainz and Grimmen were newly founded.
At this time, the conversion to Geocom measuring equipment began.
This was followed by many restructurings and new foundations and again the closure of various parts of the company.
In the 1990s, the range of borehole geophysical investigations was expanded. Borehole geophysical measurements were increasingly carried out to clarify the development and condition of developed outcrops.
The preparation of environmental reports reached a peak during this period. Complex tasks with geological, hydrogeological and engineering geological orientation were increasingly dealt with.
The new company offers a wide range of services. It ranges from investigations by means of modern borehole measurement methods in open and extended boreholes (diameters of 50 - 2000 mm and depths up to a maximum of 1000 m) to the documentation, evaluation and interpretation of the measurement results including the preparation of specialised and customer-related reports based on the respective state of knowledge.
The work is aimed at clarifying tasks and questions in the fields of geology, hydrogeology, environment, water, raw materials and construction management.
